Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Water Wastewater and Roads Operations, this position will support day-to-day operations and office administration, updating standard operating procedures, benchmarking data collection, and coordination of sectional outreach program during City events. The intern will work closely with team members to gain practical experience across a variety of divisional core services provided.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Shadow multiple positions and train in a variety of operational tasks.
- Assist with maintenance programs, by managing databases, inputting information, reviewing records.
- Assist in clerical duties, take memos, maintain files, organize documents; photocopy, etc. as needed.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials, gathering documentation
Education and Experience
- Community College Diploma in Business Administration, Environmental, Engineering, or related field
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks are a requirement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and creative team player
- Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups
- Comfortable working outside (fieldwork) on occasion
- Possess your own CSA certified steel toe safety boots for fieldwork
- Possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license
