Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Application Services, the Supervisor of SAP Sustainment will lead software implementation and development through the complete solution lifecycle. The Supervisor of SAP Sustainment will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will provide direction, feedback, and guidance to a team of highly skilled analysts and developers. You will work closely with the Supervisor of SAP Enablement to deliver enhancements and ensure that business groups can use SAP effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of internal and external technical and business specialists in the development, implementation and support of SAP.
- Manage projects and work with project managers, sponsors and other stakeholders to ensure definition of clear requirements and develop and plan strategies that support achievement of business objectives and priorities.
- Support the development of skills and performance standards across the section by working with staff to ensure consistency with performance reviews and performance management standards.
- Ensure personal and professional development of staff and encourage a culture that supports the development of innovative and effective business solutions.
- Lead the design of detailed application solution plans and test strategies, oversee business testing of application solutions and manage activities to gain client acceptance.
- Generate and track resource plan and effort estimates for ongoing operational support.
- Establish effective support model and agreed service levels to manage client priorities.
- Provide Tier 2 application support, identify remediation actions and manage the implementation of improvements.
- Ensure alignment of business solutions with enterprise architecture principles and IT strategy.
- On-call/standby evenings and weekends are required – must be available to work evenings, flex shifts, extended hours and statutory holidays when required.
- Must be willing and able to transport yourself to City work sites as required (mileage compensated).
Education and Experience
- University Degree in Computer Sciences, Informatics, Business Administration or related discipline.
- SAP designations and certifications would be preferred.
- ITIL, PMP, certification would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of working experience in managing and leading SAP Support Team.
- Demonstrated experience in SAP S/4HANA system and its modules, such as FICO, PSCD, BPC, FM, MM, PM, PS, SAP HCM.
- Demonstrated experience in SuccessFactors, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP.
- Working knowledge of SAP RISE and cloud migrations.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of process improvement, BPMN, process mapping and ability to deconstruct complex business requirements, propose options and map best fit options to business processes.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with project management, SDLC, and applications implementation methodologies, solutions architecture, IT security, governance, and compliance.
- Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation, facilitation, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in cross-functional teams with experience leading, coaching, developing, and motivating staff.
- Working knowledge with all or some finance operations, including AR, AP, banking, capital management, asset management, financial accounting, cost accounting, taxation, profitability analysis and reporting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills adept at effectively dealing with multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies with ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies for introduction into a complex IT environment.
