Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Water and Wastewater, the Water Technician administers the Infill Servicing Contract, curb cutting and ditch infilling for the City.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender documents
  • Communicate with contractor regarding project expectations
  • Provide work orders
  • Check and inspect completed work
  • Review and comment on CCTV Inspection Reports regarding existing sanitary lateral
  • Determine whether existing structure is sufficient or requires replacement
  • Confirm applications for curb cutting comply with applicable by-laws
  • Conduct site visit, measure, and paint curb for work
  • Coordinate appropriate contractor, and follow up to ensure work is completed appropriately
  • Prepare files and provide service cost reports as required
  • Gather and review data related to applications including drawings, CCTV records, survey plans, etc.
  • Process and track invoices appropriately
  • Data enter information and maintain databases

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering - Construction or related discipline
  • CET designation or related designation is required
  • 5 years related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, OnPoint, Maximo, Sharpdesk
